BCBG: good style, good attitude

spring means dresses… and BCBG has got me smiling!  i love maxi dresses and skirts and BCBG never ever ever fails me in that department.  it was there for me when i needed the perfect dress for my college graduation… and then again for my masters graduation… and most recently for a wedding i’m attending in kenya at the end of the month.

but alas, this is a blog about accessories, so let me show you a few of my favorites (in order of size, because i’m excessively orderly):

fun fact: BCBG is an acronym for “bon chic bon genre”, which translates in english to “good style, good attitude”.

cala & jade: timeless, funky, and fresh

i’ve been looking for the perfect “everyday handbag” for a while now… i go back and forth between michael kors’ classic hamilton tote and absolutely any one of reed krakoffs’ boxer totes.  they’re both beautiful, timeless, and made of leather.  if you’re familiar with my work, then you know i’m partial to leather.  i just love the way a good leather handbag ages so gracefully into a beautiful and natural patina.

i’m also partial to emerging fashion labels, and this particular one trumps the two designer bags on my must-have list.  cala & jade (introduced to me by my good norwegian friend and college roommate nora) is a timeless, funky and fresh leather handbag and accessory brand.  i am in love with the seductive uniqueness of each piece… they use only the finest quality scandinavian and italian leather, so you know that their bags will just get better and better with age.

take a second and browse through their web shop… i promise that you won’t be disappointed.

bags to worship in 2012

i predict that women everywhere will be clawing at these unexpected bags.  these bags feel special in a subtle way- subtle enough that they’d last through the ever changing runway trends.  my fave?  the lacoste cathy bag.  i bet you $795 that it’ll be the “it bag” of 2012.  what do you think?

a while ago i blogged about the cambridge satchel epidemic.  guess what?  old navy has an extremely affordable version of the famous $166 neon satchel.  it’s a smaller shoulder bag, large enough for keys, a wallet, and a cell phone and costs only $19!  this is available in black and white as well, but i’m partial to the neon option.  what do you think?
